FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Ordering

How long does it take to get a door?

Most doors are made in 6–8 weeks. Custom-size glass doors are made to order and take 6–8 months. Your quote states the lead time for your door before you commit.

Can you build a door that isn’t a standard size?

For insulated steel and roll-up doors, yes — we manufacture them, so custom widths and heights are normal for us. Glass doors are made in set sizes only (7′ to 20′ wide); each glass door page lists every size.

Do you install, or can I just buy the door?

Both. We provide installation services in the areas we serve, and you can also order a door only — for pickup at our facility or delivery to your site.

Glass doors

Do glass garage doors give me any privacy?

Choose tinted glass. During the day it cuts glare and makes it much harder to see in than out. At night, with lights on inside, any glass is more see-through — plan lighting or blinds if that matters. Clear glass gives the most light and view.

Is the glass safe?

Our glass doors use tempered glass (5 mm, published) in an aluminum frame. Tempered glass is much stronger than ordinary glass and breaks into small pieces rather than sharp shards.

Are your glass doors residential or commercial?

Both. The same black-frame aluminum-and-glass door is offered in residential grade and commercial grade. Tell us how the door will be used and we’ll confirm the right setup.

What colors and glass options are available?

Glass doors come with a black aluminum frame and your choice of clear or tinted tempered glass.

How much does a glass garage door cost?

It depends on the size, glass and options. Send us your opening size with the quote form and our sales team will price it in a written quote.

Products

What’s the difference between a steel insulated and a glass garage door?

A steel insulated garage door (steel, polyurethane core, steel) has a published R-18 rating — the choice when temperature control and quiet matter. A glass garage door (black aluminum frame, tempered glass) is chosen for light and a modern look; it insulates far less than a foam-filled steel door.

Which finishes are available for insulated doors?

Black Sandpaper, White Sandpaper, White Orange Peel and Cedar Wood Look. Windows can be added in a top row or a side column, with tinted or frosted glass.

Payments

Do I pay everything up front?

No. A deposit covers materials, and the balance is due on delivery or after installation is complete. The deposit becomes non-refundable once production of your door begins. Every condition is confirmed on your invoice.

Do you offer financing?

Yes — AVS Group offers financing through Synchrony. Available plans, terms and approval are decided by Synchrony when you apply; see our Financing page for details.

Warranty

What does the warranty cover?

Our limited warranty covers insulated door sections, hardware and paint for set periods, with exclusions (for example coastal/salt exposure and damage during construction). Read the full Limited Warranty page for terms — commercial installations have different terms.

Contractors

Do you work with builders and installers?

Yes. Builders, general contractors, developers and installers can contact our sales team for project quotes, contractor pricing and repeat orders.
