Care
Look after your door
- 01
Look and listen once a month
Watch the door open and close. Uneven movement, new noises or a gap at the floor are worth a closer look before they become a bigger problem.
- 02
Test the safety reverse
Make sure the door reverses when something blocks the safety sensors. If it doesn’t, stop using the opener and request service.
- 03
Lubricate the moving parts
A garage door lubricant on hinges, roller bearings and springs a couple of times a year. Keep the tracks clean and dry.
- 04
Wash the finish
Mild soap and water, then rinse. Avoid harsh cleaners and solvents — chemical damage isn’t covered.
- 05
Keep the bottom clear
Snow, ice, salt and standing water at the bottom seal shorten its life and can corrode the door.
- 06
Leave springs and cables to a technician
They’re under high tension. Adjusting them yourself is dangerous and not something we can cover.
Claims
How to make a warranty claim
- 01
Report it within 15 days
Tell us within fifteen days of discovering the problem. A service request with photos is the fastest way.
- 02
Leave it as it is
Please don’t repair, remove or change the part before we’ve seen it — we may need to inspect the door to confirm the warranty applies.
- 03
Have your order details
Your order or invoice number and the installation or delivery date help us find your door. If you have an AVS Group account, your orders are there.
- 04
We confirm and fix it
If the part is defective and within its warranty period, AVS Group repairs or replaces it.
Questions
Warranty FAQ
When does my warranty start?
On the date your door is installed or delivered.
Is my garage door opener covered?
Openers are covered by the opener manufacturer’s warranty, not ours. We’ll still help you work out what’s wrong and who to contact.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell my home?
No. The warranty is for the original purchaser and isn’t transferable. Door-section coverage lasts as long as the original purchaser owns the home.
Is labor included?
The warranty covers repairing or replacing defective parts. Shipping, installation and labor charges aren’t covered.
My door is on a commercial building. What applies?
Commercial installations — including doors owned by an association or anyone other than the resident — have different terms. Ask us for the commercial warranty.
The house is still under construction. Anything I should know?
Keep the door in manual mode until construction is finished. Damage from construction debris isn’t covered, and related service calls are billed.
