Two black insulated steel garage doors on a stone home at dusk

Residential and commercial

Steel insulated garage doors

Our steel insulated garage door is a three-layer sectional door — a steel skin, a polyurethane core bonded to the steel, and a steel back. It keeps garages quieter and closer to the temperature of the house, and comes in four finishes with optional windows.

  • High-performance insulation for year-round comfort.
  • Durable steel construction built to last.
  • Custom sizes, colors and window layouts.

Buying advice

What to consider

Polyurethane vs polystyrene

Polyurethane is foamed in and bonds to both steel skins, which adds rigidity as well as insulation. Polystyrene panels are inserted and usually insulate less for the same thickness.

What R-value tells you

R-value measures resistance to heat flow; higher is better. Ratings are often quoted for the panel core — whole-door performance also depends on seals and windows.

Windows

Top-row windows keep privacy while adding light; a stacked side column gives the modern look in our project photos. Tinted or frosted glass.

Finish

Black Sandpaper, White Sandpaper, White Orange Peel or Cedar Wood Look — all on the same insulated construction.

Want more light?

Consider a full-view glass door

Black aluminum frame, tempered glass, clear or tinted. Perfect where daylight and a modern look matter more than insulation.

FAQ

Common questions

What’s the difference between a steel insulated and a glass garage door?

A steel insulated garage door (steel, polyurethane core, steel) has a published R-18 rating — the choice when temperature control and quiet matter. A glass garage door (black aluminum frame, tempered glass) is chosen for light and a modern look; it insulates far less than a foam-filled steel door.

Which finishes are available for insulated doors?

Black Sandpaper, White Sandpaper, White Orange Peel and Cedar Wood Look. Windows can be added in a top row or a side column, with tinted or frosted glass.
